Ann is a senior in the College of Arts and Sciences majoring in Government and History with minors in Law and Classics. She grew up in Connecticut and now lives in New York, NY. This will be her seventh and final CMUNC and eighth year of Model UN. In her free time, she loves exploring NYC, catching up on Netflix shows, cooking, and spending time with friends. She has loved her time at Cornell and with CMUNC and is so excited to welcome everyone to campus.
Abigail is a senior majoring in Government, History and the College Scholar Program from Guangzhou, China. Abigail's passion for international relations led her to internships at the Pew Research Center and the Brookings Institution. In her free time, she enjoys reading novels and practicing Khmer. This is her fourth year serving on the CMUNC Secretariat. She is excited to welcome delegates and advisors to CMUNC 2019.
John Fang is a junior at Cornell originally from Shanghai, China currently majoring in Government and minoring in International Relations and Business. He has been participating and organizing Model UN Conferences starting from his high school freshman year, which has introduced him to many opportunities all around the globe. John has also traveled extensively, in fact to all continents except Antarctica, and is keen on exploring different cultures and especially interested in different international cuisines.
Juliette is a sophomore from Michigan in the School of Industrial and Labor Relations minoring in Business and Design & Environmental Analysis. She has been participating in Model UN since her freshman year of high school, was the President of her high school team senior year, and has continued her passion for MUN in CIAS at Cornell. When she’s not doing MUN related activities, Juliette enjoys spending time with friends, reading, and exploring Ithaca. She’s very excited to be serving as USG for Specialized Committees!
Katarina is a junior in the College of Arts and Sciences majoring in Government with minors in Law and Society and History of Art and hopes to attend law school in the future. Katarina's Model UN career began in her hometown of Boise, Idaho her freshman year of high school. Since then, she has held various leadership positions and traveled to multiple conferences across the country. Outside of CMUNC, Katarina is involved in Polis-Cornell's pre-political society, Peace Action Cornell, and Cornell Social Media Ambassadors. In her spare time, Katarina drinks lots of tea and/or vegan lattes, facetimes her two dogs (Luka and Mila), watches political/legal TV shows along with James Bond movies, and enjoys hitting the gym with a good book. Katarina can't wait for CMUNC 2019!
Afnan is a sophomore double majoring in Economics and Computer Science, with entrepreneurial aspirations. An international student, Afnan comes from Pakistan where he participated in multiple MUNs as a delegate and then ultimately went on to become the Secretary General of his High School MUN.
Brendan is a sophomore studying Industrial and Labor Relations and pursuing minors in business, history, and classics. Brendan began his Model UN when he joined CIAS in his freshman year. On campus, he is also involved in Cornell Tradition, the Cornell Republicans, and Cornell Political Union. After graduating, Brendan hopes to go to law school and pursue a career in law or public policy.
Amina is a sophomore in the College of Arts and Sciences studying Economics, Africana Studies, and Inequality studies. This is Amina’s sixth year participating in Model United Nations and second year apart of CIAS. She is also the Secretary-General for our China based conference, CMUNC China. In addition to being a member of CIAS, Amina is a news writer for The Cornell Daily Sun, co-treasurer of the Black Women’s Support Network and conducts research as Rawlings Research Scholar. Amina plans to go to law school or work in media and communications.
Cameron is a junior in the College of Arts and Sciences, majoring in Computer Science. He has been participating in Model UN since his junior year of high school. This is his third year on the CMUNC secretariat, having also served as Director of Technology last year and a Conference Assistant Director two years ago. Cameron is very excited for CMUNC 2019.
Joanna Hua is a junior majoring in Government, minoring in Policy Analysis and Management, and studying the pre-medical track. From Los Angeles, California, she is involved in a host of activities on campus, from wet lab and healthcare policy research to leading a volunteer organization's recruitment, along with being Director of Outreach for CMUNC 2019! She is incredibly excited to meet all of you as she leads the newly established financial aid process as well as community engagement to strive for higher education! In her free time, she likes to read and eat hot cheetos.
Kevin is a senior in the College of Engineering studying Information Science, Systems, & Technology and minoring in Design and Economics. He hopes to go to graduate school and work in the intersection of robotics, architecture, and public policy. Kevin has been involved in Model UN since his freshman year of college when he joined CIAS and was previously Director of Technology at the Cornell International Affairs Conference (CIAC), CIAS' collegiate Model UN conference. Outside of CMUNC, he's involved in a research lab focusing on Human-Robot interaction, is a medical technician for the university's emergency medical service, and a graphic designer for the autonomous submarine team.
