A Letter from the Secretary-General
Dear Prospective Delegates and Advisors,
My name is Ann Balzer and I am excited to serve as the Secretary-General for Cornell Model United Nations Conference 2019. Cornell Model United Nations Conference (CMUNC) is an amazing opportunity for high school students to address pressing current issues through research, debate, and teamwork. In order to provide a fulfilling experience for all conference attendees, we promote the development of transferrable professional and academic skills and welcome delegate and advisor feedback.
Please join us on Cornell University’s beautiful campus in Ithaca, New York from April 11-14, 2019. Our Secretariat and dedicated staff have been eagerly preparing for your arrival since the conclusion of CMUNC 2018. We hope to provide you with a rewarding conference experience.
I would like to give a special welcome to new delegates and delegations. In keeping with CMUNC’s mission as a learning conference, we strive to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for delegates with all levels of experience. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns that may arise as you prepare for our conference.
To those of you whom we have hosted before, thank you. Your support and feedback are invaluable to CMUNC. We are committed to constantly improving our conference, especially in response to your ideas. We hope that your time at CMUNC 2019 is outstanding!
CMUNC will give you the opportunity to challenge yourselves intellectually, cooperate with your peers, and better understand some of the world’s most pressing concerns. It is our wish that this conference will encourage your interest in international affairs and provide you with academic, social, and professional skills which you will bring home with you and use with confidence for years to come. Thank you for your interest in CMUNC. I cannot wait to welcome you all to Ithaca and Cornell in April!
